The Prestonwood Gourmet Club was founded in the fall of 1978, as a spin-off from the Prestonwood Newcomer's Club. Many of those "charter" members are still active.
We meet on the second Saturday of every month from September through May. We kick off the new gourmet season in September with an informal appetizer mixer. At that time, we sign up to host and plan menus throughout the coming year. We usually have two (sometimes three) host homes each month, and all homes enjoy the same menu. The host home "divvies up" the recipes, and each participant brings one to two menu items. We end the season in May, with the men primarily responsible for the food preparation.
The club will usually follow an annual theme and we try to keep it fairly simple.
